California Finals Rodeo in Norco

Article by A. Jacobs Nov 22 2009

The city of Norco, horses, and rodeos all go together. Kind of like Pat's Kitchen and breakfast, Frahm Dodge and trucks, Bob's and Big Boy, or Filippi's and great pizza.

This year's California Finals Rodeo was held at Ingall's Park and an appreciative crowd saw some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in the state compete for prize money. This is always one of the best organized rodeos in the area and Friday night was no exception. The current economy is a challenge, but local sponsors came through. There was Pat's Kitchen, Hampton Inn, Frahm Dodge, Johnson Machinery, West Coast Specialty Truck Equipment, The Coffee News, Reed Valley Ranch, Western Pacific Roofing, Thrifty Horse Consignment Shoppe, and the hospitality provider was Filippi's Italian. If you like rodeos stop in and let these businesses know you appreciate their support of local events.

I was unable to photograph the rodeo. I could make up a story about bull riding, an 8-second ride, and a rodeo queen offering sympathy, but I think it's just age. Luckily a local, talented (and young) photographer took time away from his studies at Cal State San Bernardino and made himself available to capture the action of the rodeo in this slideshow.
