The Norco High School girls basketball team came up short against the Lady Monarchs from Mater Dei in the quarterfinals of CIF action Wednesday night, 59-50. The first quarter was tied as the Cougars held their own against the taller visitors, but a pressure full court press by Mater Dei yielded a 10-0 run at the beginning of the second period. 

Norco fought back with to within one point several times during the second half as the team was able to break through the press, but with less than three minutes remaining in the game, Mater Dei continued to pull away.

Mater Dei improved its record to 26-1, while Norco ended its season with a 19-11 mark.
